The Principles of the
Libyan Revolution
Every revolution in history has its own principles which will never
change through time, place, or circumstances. The Libyan revolution
is not an exceptional case. It has its own package of principles
which can be inferred from the motive of the revolution, and from
its goals, values, facts, ambitions, circumstances, nature, course,
and from its expected impact on people.
These principles may seem basic, but documenting them during the
time of the revolution, is a crucial part of the struggle against
the brutal regime in Libya.
Moreover, I encourage my fellow Libyans to use, promote, and support
these principles so we can be in the same picture, have one voice,
and have the same stance. I also encourage employing these
principles and values during dialogues, debates, panel discussions,
and interviews, with the Libyans and the non Libyans.
Based on the above discussion, the Libyan revolution incorporates
the following principles, values, ambitions, and facts,
-
The brutality and the oppression of the Libyan regime against the
Libyan people for four decades was the fuel for the Libyan
revolution.
-
The Libyan revolution started peacefully in the form of a simple
demonstration.
-
The demonstrators were asking the regime for basic human rights.
-
Freedom was the key request of the peaceful demonstrators.
-
The regime used excessive force against the unarmed civilian
demonstrators.
-
The Libyans did not carry weapons to defend themselves until the
regime used brutal force against them and killed dozens of unarmed
civilians.
-
Gaddafi, his sons, and his loyalists were the first to use foreign
forces against the Libyan people, including mercenaries and
foreign military fighter pilots.
-
The Libyans welcomed NATO forces only after Gaddafi used
mercenaries and foreign pilots to bomb the Libyan cities and
slaughter the unarmed Libyan civilians.
-
It has to be understood that the Libyan case is not a political,
social, or economic one, but a humanitarian case in which Gaddafi
betrayed the Libyans by using heavily armed militias against them,
instead of defending the country and the people.
-
The fighting in Libya is not a civil war but a war between the
Libyans and the armed Gaddafi forces or militias.
-
It is a fact that there are no separatists in Libya, no
individual, tribe, area, city, or village that has asked for
division or asked to be separated from the home land.
-
The Libyans are one body, under one tribe called “LIBYA”. If any
part of the country hurts the rest of the body (all Libya and
Libyans) will feel the same pain.
-
The Libyan people can easily distinguish between the stand of the
other countries’ regimes and the stand of the people.
-
It must be understood that one drop of the Libyan peoples’ blood
is more valuable then all the Libyan oil.
-
The new Libyan regime will definitely be centered on freedom, law,
constitution, safety, human rights, civil institutions, and the
security of the Libyan people.
-
The new Libya will take care of all areas, cities, tribes,
individuals, parties, etc.
-
Gaddafi, his sons, loyalists, and supporters do not belong to
Libya or Libyans because of their crimes against the Libyans.
-
The Libyan people are ready to sacrifice a million Libyans for the
coming generations to live in freedom, dignity, and prosperity for
hundreds of years.
-
The saying of Omar al Mukhtar is the motto of the freedom fighters
and they are courageously displaying it “we will never surrender..
we win or die”
-
The Libyan people are confident that they will have victory over
the brutal dictatorship.
-
The previously mentioned points will not be compromised, and there
will be no backing off until the regime falls. InshaAllah.
